----- Original Message ----- From: Terry@cstv To: Stephen Belgrave Cc: Lord Falconer ; Harry Fletcher ; Richard Littlejohn ; Charlotte Maxwell-Lyte ; Jon Gaunt ; Victoria Deakin Home Office ; Ann Widdecombe MP ; Ian Froggat ; Paul Fountain, DCI ; Lord Ashcroft ; ACPO Sent: Saturday, January 06, 2007 5:42 PM Subject: The Lord Chancellor and CrimeshareTV.com Dear Stephen I hope you are well and had a very merry Christmas. Further to the ongoing communications between us this past year in CSTV's efforts to forge a working relationship with you I am disappointed my request for a copy of Crimestoppers Trusts' current published policies document made in my email dated the 6th November 2006 to New Media & Technology Assistant, Hunter Thorburn, has apparently been overlooked. You will appreciate the request was made to help the young volunteers at CSTV understand Crimestoppers' reasons for its apparent consistent reluctance to work in partnership with them. Given the level of corruption evident within the establishment ie 'Cash for Honours' you can't blame the kids for thinking the establishment has something to hide and doesn't want inquisitive kids asking questions. They only want to help prevent crime which would seem to conform with the statement on Crimestoppers website that Crimestoppers is built on a partnership between the police, the media and local communities. "Crimestoppers is built on a partnership between the police, the media and local communities. Most Wanted is an effective tool which the media are using to highlight appeals to the public". Following the illegal closure of the community crime prevention website www.crimesharetv.com by the West Yorkshire Police on Christmas Eve 2005 (see attached email) for alleged breach of copyright and human rights issues regarding images of individuals wanted by the police that were actually already in the public domain on the Crimestoppers website at the request of the police, the record will show we have repeatedly requested permission to work in partnership with the Trust as part of our mission to create a Crimeshare Culture; said requests are consistently ignored for, as I understand it and put to me last Christmas, we may steal Lord Ashcroft's thunder as Chairman of the Crimestoppers Trust. The Lord Chancellor, Lord Falconer, has made it public that for the police to suggest 'breach of human rights' as a reason for not publishing images of convicted murderers on the run is absolute rubbish! Logically it must follow his opinion is equally as applicable to the reasons given by Crimestoppers and the West Yorkshire Police to prevent CSTV from posting images of wanted criminals on its community website. "The Lord Chancellor, Lord Falconer, said the suggestion that the Human Rights Act may have prevented publication of the photographs was "absolute nonsense". "The Department for Constitutional Affairs (DCA) also said that the photos should be published if the men are considered a danger to the public. The department said the Human Rights Act "explicitly" allows police to print "wanted" pictures if it is in the public interest". Given the Home Office don't know how many convicted prisoners have escaped and are on the run CSTV could assist the police to catch them also, if in line with government policy communities are to share in the responsibility of preventing crime, it would seem to Crimeshare Kids the Crimestoppers Trust could do with all the help it can get given the majority of the individuals that still appear on the Most Wanted Crimestoppers site were on the list a year ago. Crimeshare Kids resolve to help in the fight against crime and terrorism remains firm so in anticipation of working with the full co-operation of the police to forge a working partnership with both the police and the Crimestoppers Trust they shall duplicate images of wanted personnel both home and abroad currently in the public domain and post them on the Crimeshare Community Culture website. The kids consider themselves responsible members of the global community committed to reducing terrorism and upholding international law. Volunteers working on the global crime fighting website CSTV confirm said images shall be instantly removed when notified by the police or Crimestoppers of the arrest of any particular individual or individuals whose image is currently on the CSTV site so as not to jeopardise due legal process. The students request to work in partnership with the police should not in an way be devalued by the government, any institution or charity if we are to support the Prime Ministers' recent 'Nuff Respect' initiative therefore I trust we can anticipate your full co-operation in this matter Stephen as per your letter of the 25th January 2006. Kind Regards and Happy New Year Terry Armstrong
From:
Terry Hey Stephen Further to my email of the 2nd March 2007 (see below) requesting the co-operation of The Crimestoppers Trust to work in partnership with CrimeshareTV, I am saddened to note Crimeshare Culture Kids continue to be ignored by the Trust. Following the illegal act of the police closing down the Community Crimeshare website, www.crimesharetv.com Christmas 2005 operated by young volunteers as a community service and the disgraceful letter from your patron, Lord Ashcorft, to Ann Widdecombe, MP displaying his thoughtless and short-sighted opinion of the kids' effort to prevent crime in their communities I am having a difficult time explaining to the kids why the authorities continue to treat them and their best efforts to fight crime and terrorism with contempt. I have personally tried every which way to reason professionally with the Trust and the police to no avail, I regret I now have little choice but to agree to allow the eager investigative journalists attached to CSTV freedom to dig deep and expose whatever the reasons are behind the police and Crimestoppers Trustees rejection of CSTV and Tony Blair's 'Nuff Respect' initiative to gather evidence in support of a legal solution to the continuing obstruction. END OF REPORT..... FOR NOW! BUT..... Michael Laurie's pompous, self - righteous attitude to the threat of legal action against the charity screams out for further investigation. Macho Michael is flexing his muscles and seems so certain Crimestoppers Trusts is untouchable and when you consider the ease by which Lord Ashcroft got the police to illegally shut down our CSTV website he probably knows the law will shield the trust. Having no confidence in the law to support Crimeshare Kids efforts they have decided to dig deep into the affairs of Lord Ashcroft and his Trusted Trustees he surrounds himself with under the Crimestoppers umbrella determined to discover the true reason why Crimestoppers do not want other crime fighters on their patch..... What is Lord Ashcroft hiding? is there an ulterior motive behind his charity? If you have any information about the big bad Baron Ashcrofts activities or inside knowledge on what his merry band of trustees get up to, let us know. All will be revealed - watch this space. meanwhile click her photo to check out Widdy Widdecombes letters to Lord Ashcroft and his smart arse reply. Information is coming in thick and fast - Check out Mediamoggy's report. |
